Bent rams, straight innovation.

The Toroidal Tilt Coupler, a patented toroidal actuator – the first curved ram in the world of its kind – the Toroidal Tilt Coupler from Calibre went on to win the Best Innovative Product award at the Diesel, Dirt & Turf Expo for 2017. The revolutionary tilting coupler showcases twin toroidal displacement cylinders that are in fact curved or ‘bent’, as well as 'Calibre Smart Valvetechnology protecting the Toroidal Tilt from high pressure spikes as well as allowing precise control and improved holding force. As small and compact as an actuator with all the benefits and power of hydraulic rams.

Available to customers with Calibre’s latest quick hitch coupler base, the Sure-Grip, the toroidal actuator boasts constant torque output at any tilt angle and locks once at the required angle allowing for precise operator control. The Toroidal-Tilt allows for the tilting of attachments 50 degrees each way (100 degrees in total) adding versatility to attachments. The toroidal actuator utilises two single acting and opposing toroidal shaped rods that in principle operate similar to a traditional and proven to be robust, displacement cylinder. Hydraulic oil is trapped in both cylinders and only released should the external load on the tilting coupler exceed the safe operating pressure of the cylinders.

Easy maintenance of the Toroidal-Tilt Coupler is ensured by enabling the servicing of the actuator even whilst on the machine. Like all tilting couplers in the Calibre range, the Toroidal-Tilt Coupler is compliant with rear and front locking slides and individually certified and tested (CPENG) with a full manufacturing record.

The Calibre Toroidal Tilt Coupler takes the tilting game to a whole new level.
