Civil, Roading and Farm Work with the Calibre Heli-Tilt
"The Heli-Tilt is a robust quick-hitch, it's amazing what we can do with it."
- Tim Buckley of Broughton Contracting
The continuous development of technologically advanced equipment has put Calibre at the forefront of increasing productivity for New Zealand contractors.
Having been in the industry most of his life, owner of Broughton Contracting, Tim Broughton has seen large advancements in machine technology and productivity. In fact, when Tim’s Grandfather first established the company in 1960, they were using dragline excavators on their roading and commercial projects.
Soon after hydraulic excavators were introduced to the market, Broughton's productivity improved but work was still slow due to having to manually change attachments in between jobs.
It was the development in earthmoving attachments, specifically, hydraulic tilting hitches that saw Tim add his first Calibre Heli-Tilt and a Wide Bucket to his new Hitachi ZX130. With an impressive tilt range of up to 180 degrees and a quick connect and disconnect process, Tim saw significant increases in their business as productivity and efficiency improved.
Tim was so impressed with the performance and durability of his first Heli-Tilt, he added a range of Calibre tilting hitches, quick couplers and buckets to his machines.
Tim Buckley, a longtime operator of Broughton Contracting says that the Heli-Tilt is the ideal tool when working on large projects, he says, “the Heli-Tilt is certainly a robust hitch, it’s amazing what we can do with it.”
